Japan Tourism Agency has announced that the new version of the push-enabled information alert app for foreign tourists,“Safety tips,” has been published on March 13.
The function of the app has been improved based on the experiences from the recent disasters including the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake.
“Safety tips” app is available in five languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean and Japanese. It provides push notifications of Earthquake Early Warnings, Tsunami Warnings, Weather Warnings and Eruption Notices.
The app now offers new information such as a list of hospitals that can treat international visitors, emergency contact information and etc. Also, some features such as the navigation flowcharts have been improved.
