Shonan’s Jewelry Illumination 2017-18 (November 25th – February 18th)

“Shonan’s Jewelry Illumination 2017-18” is being held in the Enoshima Island located in the northern part of Kanagawa Prefecture, in the area known as Shonan.

On Enoshima Island, there are the famous Enoshima Shine, Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden, Enoshima Iwaya (a cave of sea erosion), and other tourist sites. The island attracts many tourists especially on the weekends.

“Shonan’s Jewelry Illumination 2017-18” takes place in Samuel Cocking Garden, also known as the Enoshima Tropical Plants Garden. As the main show of the event, the observation lighthouse called Enoshima Sea Candle in the garden is lit up at night. The illumination will be on until mid-February.

* The Sea Candle is inside the Samuel Cocking Garden, so the Admission for the garden is included in the Admission to the Sea Candle

Main Events
1. The illumination of Sea Candle – “The Grand Space of Lights”
As shown in the top picture, with the line lights decorated, the Sea Candle will become a big shining tree in the night.

2.The arch formed by more than 70 thousand crystal beads – “Shonan Chandelier”
At the entrance of the Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden, an arch called “Shonan Chandelier” will connect your way to the “The Grand Space of Lights”. It has totally 70 thousand crystal beads this year, which is 10 thousands more than last year.

3. Enoshima “The Light Street”
Totally up to 1km lighting-up all over the island will connect the event venues together, which forms a street of lights.

4. More than 20 thousands winter tulips will blossom and the lighting-up
From the middle of December to the Late January every year, more than 20 thousands winter tulip will blossom together. There will also be the lighted up during the night.

5. The finale of Shonan’s Jewelry Illumination 2017-18 – “MIRRORBOWLER The Light Art”
In the last week of the illumination, hundreds of mirror balls will decorate the event venue to welcome a finale of the whole event.
